need for speed hotpursuit 2

i'm trying to play the game (patched) and it works.The only thing is that i can drive the cars but i don't get environment graphics. Just the car is visible and all over the tracks and all environment is only a red/orange color wth text like 'bad cooki' and something else written. All the rest works perfectly (savegame, championship, pursuit etc) What's wrong here? Is it the video card? I have a Hercules Kyro 4500 with the latest drivers installed.
