Newb question about Brood Wars

Hey there kids, I Installed Starcraft with my old CD I actually bought, and then I grabbed Brood Wars, off the internet. Everything seemed fine, but the Brood Wars CD I grabbed off the net wouldnt work on multi play, so I grabbed the nocd from GameCopyWorld and was able to get the cd check to to not notice. So all Is good, but then when I tried logging into the Battle.net servers it would almost go through, but then it would give me an error about my Executable being an unknown version. I'm guessing thats because of the nocd hack I ran. Anyways is there any way to get around this battle.net check or to fake the check? I dont know much about this stuff. I tried using a loader program which I thought was supposed to be for this type thing, but it didnt work on the battle.net servers. Well if anyone knows how to avoid paying the 10 bucks for the Brood Wars CD, give me a reply
