Help for beginner

I am new to making back up c.ds
I have clone cd & adaptec creator software
My writer is a IDE r/rw 8x4x32
I have attempted to use patches to copy cd's but they never work i am not sure how to use them properly.
Is there anywhere I can find instructions or can anyone help a novice!!

When u use clone-cd you don't need patches, you just copy the whole damned thing
But when u use adaptec, down load the patch u need (sometimes u must unzip it first).
Select all the files of the cd u want to copy and add the patch u've downloaded before and burn it all.
All u need to do most of the time is to delete the original exe-file and then replace it with the one u got from the patch.
U can now start the game with that exe-file.
