OK, do you copy disc-to-disc?

This is not advisable. Better to create an image file first, then burn. Next, use a program like Mem Turbo, to omptimise you Windows disc cache and hopefully avoid buffer underruns.

Do you have any other cd-r programs installed? Some programs like those made by Adaptec don't like sharing your drive with other cd-r programs.

Your ASPI drivers also need to be #####ed to ensure they're the latest version. Use Aspichk.exe. I think the latest ASPI layers are version 4.6.

What spec is your pc - CPU. Motherboard, WIN Version?

The correct conenction for copying discs as far as your IDE ports are concerned, should be:

Primary Master = hard-drive
Primary slave = free or secondary hard-drive

Secondary Master = CD-Rom/DVD
Secondary Slave = Cd-Writer

Some manufacturers use one cable for a hard-drive and cd-writer to cut costs down, which can cause problems.

Finally, what make is your writer?

All the best.

This exact same thing keeps happening to me too!!! I was assuming I had a bad batch of Imation CD-R's.

I have an HP 9100 CDRW, whenever I use Clone CD to burn images on CD-R's, I get that exact same message just after it burns the leadln (and yes, I write the image to my HD first, then burn).

I took your advice and #####ed the ASPI layer and it was not loaded properly. I got forceaspi, installed it and #####aspi reports that version 4.6 is now loaded properly. However, even after a reboot, I still get the error.

Here's the funny part, if I use Memorex CR-RW's, this doesn't happen-ever. Why would it only affect CD-R's and not RW's? Is it a speed thing cause RW's burn slower???

I do have EZ CD 5 Platinum loaded on here as well so perhaps that will be my next step, to remove that. However, I burn music with that and everything works fine with CD-R's in that application.

Weird.......

Jackpot....Got mine working after 2 dozen coasters with this same message. I unistalled EZ CD5 and that didn't do a thing, still got this error. So finally I burn an image and all I did was slow it down, normally I've set CloneCD to Max burn speed, I took it down to 4x and it worked.
I can't believe it's my system cause this thing rocks...Abit KT7A Mobo with a 1200 Athlon and 512 Megs of RAM.

Whatever works!!! I'll just keep creeping up the speed until it happens again, then back down.
