The Thing's crack won't work

I copied over the Thing's fixed exe, only my computer won't acknowledge it's there, so the program won't start. I've replaced the program's original exe, so what am I doing wrong? Also, I really need a no-cd for Aliens vs. Predator: Primal Hunt. Would someone please be kind enough to send me one? Just respond, and I'll email you my address. Thanks, everyone!
