backup dvd wont work on my ps2 (messiah)

hello all
Newbie here who needs help burning his 1st PS2 game
I have been trying to make a backup dvd-r copy on final fantasy x using unbranded dvd-r
Using the primo 2.0 and the tutorial giving by u all
I have try my first back up ps2 (dvd format) game and its seem working fine.
I have ps2 v5 board with the messiah mod and when i load my back up game it want blank after the ps2 logo appear.
Can hear the crecking noise but nothing come out
Question : Did i done something wrong or its the media problem?

Did borrow a backup copy game (dvd format) and it load first time.

Any help from u guys with be much thankfull

If you followed the Primo tut. that Charlie_PS2 wrote, you should have no problems with the burn.... Most likely is sub-par media... Try a re-burn using a good quality media like Verbatim, Apple, etc....

what brand media did u use
i used tested on v3 v4 v5 ps2 traxadata and white label
both cheapish disk £1.50 each

or use verbatim apple or pioneer but these r much more expensive

Thank for your help. I will certainlly try to use the better media and try it again
I will keep u 2 inform

By the way the media that i use came from Taiwan.
According to them they r the one that supply the dvd-r to verb.
So i assume they r good media
Honestlly i dont know what kind of media is it.No problem with my back up movie though?
Anyway i will keep u all inform once i get some better media

Hello again
As I promise here is my result on final fantasy x
I have try it again on the verb media and the first 3 attamp it fail
but the forth try and it work!!!!
Its a bit costly but it work eventually

May be next I will try the traxdata media as the media cost a lot less than the verb.

3 COPIES ON VERBS EVERYONE SHOULD HAVE WORKED
did u change anything to get fourth one to work

u say u got v5 so laser should b fine
u got cats,dogs,etc or just did building work
alot o problems arise from dirty lasers
buy cd/dvd cleaner(cd with tiny brushes on it )pop it in clean few times
ive had to do this when my ps2 plays up only loads certain games
then try all verb burns again even try unbranded again

u say u borrowed a backup so u know someone with chipped ps2
try your copies on his ps2 if they load then u know its your laser
most likely needs cleaning v5 shouldnt need adjusting

if verbs 123 doesnt boot on other ps2 but verb 4 does
then
1 either u changed something to make verb 4 work
2 or anything i can think of is there is problem with your a03 burning very weakly

hi dust
its my fault not explaining in detail
first disc : copy 1:1 with primo 2 ( not loading )
second disc : copy 1:1 with nero 5.5.8 ( not loading )
3 th disc : copy image to hard drive with primo 2 and burn back
.gi image to disc.
ALL BURNING IN 2X
4th disc : again burn back the image but this time with 1X and eventually the game load on my ps2.

To be quit honest I m not sure if I did change anything in my recording but pretty much according to the tutorial.

Not sure if my laser is dirty or is it my burner but with the verb media it should burn it with 2X.Well to be sure I will get a cleaner
and start cleaning my ps2 but cant do anything with the burner.
I had this burner for more than a year now and apart from burning the dvd media I never use it to burn anything else.
