@fredropro20

You didn't give any info about your hardware/software, etc so that doesn't help. Assuming your hardware/software combo can do the job, basically these are the facts (Applicable ONLY on U.S. Retail Version):

The protection is SecuRom 2 (or also known as SecuRom *NeW*).

WC3 was/is as easy to 1:1 dupe as any other title with SR2. The WC3 disc didn't show any read errors nor bad sectors, etc, as it can be common to see with SR2.

With the right hardware/software combo and settings you can read/write at max and it will produce a 1:1 copy, if this doesn't work for you try a lower read/write speed, such as x8 or less.

If, you don't already have it, I suggest you get CloneCD and a prot scanner, such as Clony. Do a search for them on this forum, it's full of links.

CloneCD 3/4 Settings:

Reading:
Read Speed [Max -OR- x8 or slower]
Don't Report Read Errors [Off]
Read SubChannel Data from Data Tracks [On]
Read SubChannel Data from Audio Tracks [On]
Abort on Read Error [Off]
Intelligent Bad Sector Scanner [Off]
Fast Error Skip [Off]
Read Retries [0]
Error Correction [Software]
-----------------------------
Writing:
Write Speed [Max -OR- x8 or slower]
Write Mode [RAW DAO]
Buffer Underrun Protection [On]
Perform Laser Power Calibration [On] <- You don't even need this now a days but it won't hurt.
Amplify Weak Sectors [Off]
Don't Repair SubChannel Data [Off]
Always Close Last Session [On]

Trust this helps, good luck.

Just use latest BlindWrite with SubChannel reading and you will make a 1:1 copy

I did some further research and it looks like I'm screwed according to the clonecd compatability page my Plextor PX-W1610A can only read in RAW data mode so It won't be able to read all the subchannels when it makes an image.

That would explain why I havn't been able to make a 1:1 copy of Wc3 yet. Is there anything I can do short of buying a new burner at this point? Would going Directly from the Wc3 cd to burning it possibly work with this burner?

any other advice or am I out of luck..

CloneCD - shite!
I have Plextor 16x/10x/40x with latest 1.05 firmware and it burnt Warcraft 3 flawlessly with BlindWrite default settings! CloneCD doesn't work at all with my CD-RW!

it should be able to. i believe that only the q subchannel is needed, which i also believe is the +16 that your writer supports. only libcrypt needs +96. futureproof or someone at cdfreaks has posted the exact setting for use to copy this game. check club.cdfreaks.com , or go to their mainpage and get to the forum. it's there, in a sticky

THE +16 REFERS TO THE SUBCHANNEL DATA, NOT THE SPEED............not to rub it in, but whats the +96 mean then?\

sorry, harsh, idiots in other part of forum arguing that its ok to use cracks to obtain free programs, if ur only going to evaluate them. ugh. anyways, it does refer to the subchannel, i promise. the firmware should be available at lucky goldstars site. www.elby.org will tell you what firmware of the drive they have tested it with, but all versions should be ok, if i remember correctly. check club.cdfreaks.com for clonecd read/write profiles, as they are very good.
