Nero Problems - SCSI/IDE Bus

I have installed the latest demo of Nero but when I try to run the program I receive the message

Scanning SCSI/IDE Bus
Please wait

It remains like this for 10 minutes then the program freezes.

I had Easy CD Creator, which I uninstalled but I still receive the same message.
I have a Sony CRX100 CD writer

Please help !!!!!

What other programs record VCD's and where can I get them?
