Audio CD Copy Protection

Although this isn't strictly games related it does seem the right place to ask this...

Having recently bought the soundtrack to the spiderman film I would like to be able to play it on my pc system as it has much better sound quality but the cd is protected. This wouldnt be a problem with the info available normally but this cd doesnt even register with the computer. It simply hangs when the cd is inserted.

Does anybody know what protection may be being used and if there are any ways around this?

BTW, the cd does not have the usual extra ring asscoiated with sony's key2audio system.
