Has anyone tried Maxwell Black Cds and how are they compared to the recommended Datalife Plus? I figured since alot of games are on black disks this is a good thing?????? Thanks!

Well, most of the games are on blue CDs for PS2, and the DVDs are gold - as usual. That is not the point though. Maxell produced these discs as a result of the amount of piracy going on with PSX. The discs are poor quality for Data (as in games). They take ages to load (as the laser retrys reading all the time) and I guess they will wnd up wearing a bunch of the stuff in your PS2 out.
Hope that was the answer you were looking for. |

Black cd-r's have poor reflectivity and are mostly crap. Some people use them without any problems but older consoles with worn lasers dont read them to good.
