DVD Playback software...

Hello everyone... I just recently picked up a dvd player, installed it, etc etc. It's ok... I was just wondering, what kind of software is out there for dvd playback. My dvd player came with an oem version of PowerDVD. I don't like it. It seems to be a little bit choppy when I play movies. It says the system requirements are 233 pentium 2 and 32mb ram. I have a celeron 500 overclocked to 700 with 516 mb ram. So I don't think that this is the problem. My videocard is a voodoo3 2000 PCI, and it says it is fully compatible. I feel like ripping my hair out. Please... someone help.
