major drama overclocking cdrw

Hi all
Im hoping there is a guru out there that could possibly solve my problem
I found some instructions to overclock my sony crx120e and followed the instructions to a tee. It told me the process had been completed successfully and to reboot. I did so but from then on the burner light came on and my machine would not recognise the burner was there.

I had my burner set up as master on secondary ide and my normal cdrom as slave.
If i try undoing the process as it says i am supposed to be able to do, it tells me the "Drive is Busy".
Now at ####tup it wont recognise either burner or cdrom.
I have just tried swapping the cdrom to master but get the same problem with my machine not recognising that it is there.
So it seems the problem is with the master/secondary ide channel rather then the drive itself.

So how the hell do i fix it??
I really dont wont to format my machine and find that hasnt solved it.

Any help you guys could give me would be greatly appreciated. If i have killed my burner from trying to flash it then so be it, but i would like to be able to use my normal cdrom at least.

Thanks
Tony
