Quick copy question

Hi,
I want to back up a few CDS including Medal of Honor allied assault which use the newer versions of sd2, and i dont mind having to use a no CD patch to run the backups. (I have a TEAC CD-R55S CD writer, so I cant use clone cd). I have been using CDRWin with error recovery set to ignore, which takes a few hours to produce a CD image, and requires a no CD patch to play. Does anybody know if this will work with newer versions of sd2?.

Ive heard of people just copying the CD contents to hard drive then burning them to CD and using a no CD patch. Has anybody here actually done that?

A search of the forums hasnt been much help, but I have found loads of other interesting posts.....

Thanks in advance
Gook

Try the new Blindwrite V1.2.5 - it amplifies more so-called ´weak´ sectors, may be it helps with SD2.51.021, too ... Blindwrite supports your Teac writer!
If it fails try Daemon Tools - if you use the fast dump feature (see manual -> other features) it will work with Daemon Tools´ Safedisc emulation for sure! SafeDisc 2.51.021 has been tested with Daemon Tools 3.0x and works fine ...

Thanks, Ill give it a try if there is no other easy way of making a backup. To be honest I dont have the time to do too much messing about, I just want to make a backup that will work.

Cheers

Yes you can copy contents of cd to hard drive, add crack, then burn back to cd. But you must remember to LABEL THE CD CORRECTLY. This is important.

I wouldn't throw it in the bin.
Ok it can't do 1:1 like Clone CD.

But's it one of the best cd-mastering programs around - useful for adding cracks for ppl who can't copy 1:1

Thanks Copytrooper, I tried Blindread/write with amplify weak sectors enabled and it copied perfectly. Looks like there is life in the old Teac yet!. I thought it didnt support RAW writing, but Blindread uses DAO Teac which ConeCD doesnt. It also worked backing up Red Faction.

Interesting to see that it actually worked SafeDisc 2.51.021 is a hard one ...
yes, the good ol´ Teac 55S is a nice writer ... good for you (and all others owning it) that Blindwrite supports it
