Best Version PS2

Which is the best version PS2 version to get for reading different DVD-R types. I'm sure I heard that the version 5 is the best. Am I right?

V5's have the strongest laser so i would say you are right.

there is no V6.
there's only a V5 with a small change, but it's still a V5 and does NOT have a new board number or serial.

if you are unsure what version you are holding in hands at the store, look down a bit through the version postings, I posted a list in one of them where you can find out the version by looking at the product code on the box.
