Acer cd roms and cd-rw probs!!

I know this is not a usual question for this forum but i figured who better to ask than you ingenius fellows!!You see i recently purchased an ACER cd rom (56x)and also an ACER cd-rw(24x) and both of these are causing me problems!!When i install games(on either drive)i get a lot of texture corruption or sometimes the game wont install at all...For example, i install MOH:AA and when i start it up some textures(guns,trucks,etc)are rainbow checkered or sometimes the game wont start up at all!!But if i uninstall,reinstall like 10 times finally it will be perfect!I have tried everything i can think to do and i still get the same problem...and it doesnt matter what im installing...it happens sometimes to all my games.But i am pretty sure its the drives cause i have another cd rom that i installed in the pc and it never happens with it,only with the two ACER drives..Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated...thx

ECS Elitegroup K7VTA3 mobo
1 gb Kingston DDR ram
MSI Geforce 3 ti200
Soundblaster Audigy
Maxtor 60 gb hdd
ACER 56x cd rom
ACER 24x cd-rw
Oh and by the way,its NOT my vid card or my drivers....TRUST ME!!
