I need help now!!!!!!!!

Hi All,

PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!

Charlie sent me a CloneCD copy of a Jap original game to try out on a PAL PS2. He also sent me the BIN file made with licensed CDR-WIN (3.8) of the Jap original game together with a Jap to English patch he'd successfully applied (PPF-O-Matic) on his system and which worked on his Jap PS2.

The CloneCD copy worked fine on my PAL PS2 using the region x to boot (NEO2.2 MOD).

When I tried to patch the BIN file, I got the mismatch message from PPF-O-Matic; this also occurred when I tried to patch a BIN file that I produced with licensed CDR-WIN (3.7) from the CloneCD disk.

What could be happening here? It was possible that the BIN file Charlie sent me was already patched (he thinks not)? Would that throw up a PPF-O-Matic error if the patch was re-applied? And surely the BIN file produced from the CloneCD copy would be a faithful reproduction of the original?

Anyone know?

Hope to hear from you soon

Dal

One thing i could suggest is to remove the patch if it has already got one.

By using ppfreverse this can be dowloaded from sgt-dan.com

if it says successfully removed then re-patch it.

Just an idea m8,

Hey Deano,

Thanks for the post mate, Charlie assures me the BIN file that he sent is a complete fresh bin file taken straight from the Original Game. Charlie has managed to patch the same bin file using the same patch using PPF without any problems. It just does not wanna play for me.

I managed to patch another JAP game yesterday so i know im not doing something silly. I guess there must be something with that BIN that i just cant sort out.

Ill keep you posted.

But also i cant be the only one on this fourm who has had a patching problem, comeon guys any extra input would be much appreciated.

Cheers

In theory - yes. CloneCD does real 1:1 copies, including all errors or other anomalies which might belong to a copy protection mechanism. You could think of CloneCD making something more like an analogue copy than a digital copy. However, you would need several generations to actually notice a difference."

This may be your problem, or then again maybe not.
Hope it helps

Hey Sim,

The problem im having is that ive a straight from the original BIn file created by Charlie using CDR-Win, now becuase its a JAP game there is a patch avaliable which will change the text to English, so when i apply the patch it comes up with the error above in my original post.

I can make a copy using CLONE CD without any problems its when i try to add the patch to the bin file that im getting grief, the game im trying to patch you really need it in English all the Jap writing makes it very difficult to get into the game or should i say make the most of what the game has to offer.

The funny thing is that Charlie has used the same patch and bin file and it worked for him. The only system difference is that im on win98 @ home and he has a Win2k machine @ home but that should not make any difference.

The other thing is that another guy on this forum has also tried to patch a game and getting the same error, its all a bit of a nightmare.

Cheers
