MITSUMI Writer, Problem.....Help....

I was wondering why my Mitsumi Writer reads copied Disks As Audio cd's, especially games....I havent copied much.....And my 24x Creative labs CD-ROM is useless due to the fact that it locks up every time the INSTALL Shield comes on (will get to 99% and will hang... slow down and freeze)

Solutions to One or both of these problems would be greatly appreciated....thx
