Copying Madden 2002 with CloneCD

I am really trying to understand how all this copying works. I have CloneCD ver 3.2.1.1 and a plextor 40TSI SCSI, plextor 12x10x32 CDRW SCSI and toshiba 16x DVD. I need to know what settings and what speeds to use when reading and writing Madden 2002. And any other tricks for a successful copy.
Which is best for reading? 40TSI or the DVD.
Do I need a 'crack'?
Please explain in simple english as I am not that computer literate.

Are there some tutorials I could go through for burning with CloneCD that aren't so technical it takes a rocket scientist to figure out?
