Question

I was wondering...What CD/Copier software would you recommend for a "Samsung DVD SD612"? I currently use easy CD creator which really stinks. I cannot create ANY back-ups of PC Games. I have read this site with a fine tooth comb looking for answers and even tried downloading demo's of software here, but that didn't work. Most do not support my DVD-CD rom drive (D My copier is a Sony CD-Rom CRX 160E, which IS supported by many of the demo's listed.

Any suggestions? Thanks for your time.

first get rid of easy cd, then install cloneCD. Always read and write using your cd-writer. You got one of the good ones.

Well, I did try CloneCD first, when I try to copy a CD, it stated that it does not support my DVD-CD-Rom drive. What I heard about that product was all good reviews too.

I don't believe there is a problem with the Writer it's the Reading of my DVD-CD-Rom drive.(D: drive)
I am trying to copy CD to CD.

Should I try to download CloneCd again?

Thanks for the replys, very much appreciated.

OK I tried using the CD-Rom as the "Read". It did not work, now it states it cannot read the CD/RW.

All I am trying to do is "Copy a CD to a CD/R.

It has to read the DVD drive to copy doesn't it? Since that drive (game is in that drive)
Also, I printed out the directions on how to "set up" the settings in doing this from this site.( I am using CloneCD.

Well, this the error I receive...

Samsung DVD-Rom SD-612 is not compatible with
CloneCD read mode "Read SubChannel Data from Data Tracks"

I promise you all that I am not an idiot (LOL) even though I must not be making a very good case for myself here huh? Thanks again for the help.

Yes you are and idiot ;D Just joking :-D Here is a step by step guide just for you >( .
1 Start CloneCD.
2. Click read to image file (the one with a picture of a cd with a arrow pointing to a disk). Do NOT click cd to cd copy.
3. Click the read tab at the top.
4. Now use the drop down menu to select your Sony 160. Not your crap dvd rom drive.
5. Select read speed 1.
6. Tick which ever boxes you think you need. I think you said subchannel data from data tracks.
7. Start reading the cd by clicking the button at bottom. Make sure you have put the game in the cd-writer drive.
8.Let it read the cd. 20 mins or less most of the time.
9. When finished click write from image file. The button with the disk with a arrow pointing to a cd.
10. Click the write tab at the top.
11. Select the speed you want to write at. Probably full speed.
12. Tick the box 'always close last session'
13. Click the box' start disk wrie'. The button with the disk with a arrow pointing to a cd.
14. Make sure you put a cdr in the cd writer. The cd writer should have ejected the game cd when it had finished reading the cd.
15. Wait about 10 mins. You should now have a copy of your game.

If you don't get it this time, there is no hope of you ever getting it.
