mmmm-no solder-errrr???

e z I,m new 2 all this and need a ps2 capable of running dvdr and cdr. from what i can see, my best option would be a v5 pal ps2 and a no-solder mod from lik-sang(is thier no place nearer 2 the UK?) The only version of action replay i can see avaliable is v2.2. I've heard this doesnt run dvdr-but that it is the only version that works with v5!
is this correct? if so and/or if not,what other software is avaliable/required, and what methods would i need 2 use(disc swapping)? thanks
