Clonecd Query

If a backup cd has been created using clonecd, can you only copy the backup using clonecd or can you use another program such as cdrwin or nero?

Thanks
Sim

You'll be a Premium Member at this rate!

To replicate exactly what you have copied, use CLONECD again.

If you use something else, then it may have to be patched to get it to work.

What if the game is one that does not need patching in the fist place like tekken tag. Could I make a backup of that using Nero or CDrwin
if the original backup was created in clonecd?

Thanks

If it doesn't need patching in the first place then CDR-WIN or Nero will eplicate adequately.

One thing to remember with CLoneCD is that it does a 1:1 copy of the original CD so in affect it is the same as the original. SO treat it that way.

Yes after time say if you want to add a trainer to the game you could go through the process of adding a patch with CDRWin and Ppf-o-Matic and have no problems.

Quote From Clonecd

CloneCD does not modify, decrypt or descramble the data while reading or writing in any way. Copies created with CloneCD cannot be copied with other CD replication software. Only CloneCD can copy these CDs again.

So how can you make a backup of a clonecd copy?

That quote cannot be true the way I see it. If it completely replicates the original and if (as we all know we can) use CDR-WIN to copy the original (albeit to patch it) then you can copy with CDR-WIN.

As I posted earlier, you would only want to do this if the game needed no patches of any sort.

Hi,

I made a backup from an original cd of SSX, i have just burnt a backup from the first backup i did of SSX, just tested it and it plays fine. CLONE CD does a 1:1 copy so the backup ive just done plays fine. Please also note ive used the same media as before (Verbatim they really are top media)

Cheers

No 19 + 21 = 40

When I reach 40 the 10 count starts, so 40 is the first goalpost.
Then we count down from 10 to Premium Member Time!

The entireew forum will be counting you down at 40.

By which method will you claim to have reached Premium Member status (from my reply to your original question)?
