Needs AR2/1.7 or 1.9 to boot DVD-Rs. NEO2 can be touch too. NEO2.2 is certain if it's not a v5 PS2

As you would back up anything else. Best with CloneCD.

Yeah - I didn't make myself clear in the earlier post. Actually it's totally unclear!

You can copy someone's AR2/1.7 or 1.9 boot disk. Then, using an earlier original version of AR2, in principle, you can boot the original AR2; behind that boot the 1.7 or 1.9 and behind that the DVD-R. There might be some issues as to upgrading the dongle and that might mean afterwards booting with DVD Region X to pull in the AR2/1.7 to pull in the DVD-R.

I've not heard of the AR2/2 dongle working with an earlier AR2 version backup. I've also not heard of AR2/1.3 booting DVD-Rs. Hence this reply.

I think there's a better chance of it working if you boot with AR2/1.3 to swap with AR2/1.7. The full instructions beyond AR2/1.7 are posted on this forum by Dust2Dust (you can search for that) or at ####://www.ps2ownz.com or at ####://www.psxcopyworld.co.uk
