crash bash coasters

It has been some time since I purchased my daughter a new psx game. So long in fact that I had no idea there was a such thing as an anti mod chip game. Crash Bash surprised me. 4 coasters frustrate me. I tried the patch and cdrwin instructions. No luck on my old Memorex 1622. I know it's old but it won't quit. Is this game unique or am I a little dense when it comes to making a backup? Is a switch on my mod chip the easiest route? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
coastin

go to megagames.com, playstation utilities, and
download ps1 bootdisk, follow instructions to burn
probably with cdrwin and boot ps with ps boot disk then insert crash, if youve used the right boot settings game should work.

Thank you very much. I was just a little dense. Why do we even mess with patches if the boot disk will defeat the anti-mod protection?
