Help with CloneCD!

Everytime I try and burn a disc (PS2 game, PC game, utility) with CloneCD it tells me that I made a successful backup, but when I try and read the disc in Windows Explorer it will either tell me to insert a CD into the drive or the drive will just keep spinning the disc forever. I can't figure out why CloneCD is making coasters all the time! I use ClonyXL's recommended settings and I've been successful with Nero so I know it's not my burner (TDK 16x).

Can anyone please help me?

Sorry to ask, is this a cracked version of CloneCD or otherwise unlicensed?

Did you specify close disk session when writing? That's not in the ClonyXL settings.

These are the two main suspects.

To be honest, yes, the version was cracked, but I didn't know that where I d/led it from... and that was my 1st assumption. I then saw their homepage link in another thread and tried to start fresh. After a new install it came up reg'd still so I went through regedit and removed all clonecd keys. Now it comes up unreg'd, but still makes coasters. There may still be a lingering reg entry or config file somewhere so do you know how to completely start over? Does CloneCD definitely f'up discs with a bad key?

As for the "close session" option... no I didn't see one, but if I'm doing a straight cd to cd backup, would they give me the option to leave it open? I'm not at my comp now so I can't double check, but that'd seem strange to me.

ANSWER: Sometimes especially if they've sussed the key concerned which has to be quite often. CloneCD should be uninstalled completely via the COntrol Panel. When re-installed and supplied with the key, all will be well.

ANSWER: The check box is "Always Close Last Session". Write mode has to be RAW-DAO. Also, received and personal wisdom is to stage the copy via the hard drive.

Okay... i've double checked the close session option and it's definitely selected. And I've tried uninstalling it a few times and it's unreg'd, but still giving me the same problem. Should I try using a reg key? I know this isn't a serial posting forum, but if anyone can email natron9**********com one I can test, I'd appreciate it... After all, I'm not going to pay for shareware if I can't get it to work.

What about the reader (CLoneCD compatible) or do you use the TDK to read as well? Are you up to the firmware level required in the CloneCD Help?

Finally got it to work! The TDK was NOT RAW-DAO compatible even though it said it was (and even tho CloneCD said not to trust it.. duh!). Firmware upgrade did the trick.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
