back-up DVD-ROM Ps2

Is there a way to make a back-up from my Ps2 DVD-ROM games without using a DVD writer

To amplify:

You have to squeeze it down to 700MB or less. that means:
- Downsampling movies
- Removing 'unnecessary' sound and movie files
- Consider going multi-CD
- Remove DVD checks

The problems you will hit are as follows (non-exhaustive):

a You might remove movies that are actually clues in a game
b Going Multi-CD is very complex
c You may not find all the DVD checks

So this is very time consuming and error prone. If you can put a value to the time and network costs, a DVD writer ends up cheaper - or so a good many of us have decided.
