Is it true you can backup "protected games" using CloneCD (providing your burner is compatible) with out the need for patches? Thanx in advance!!!

Yes. The requirement is that the burner can handle RAW/DAO+96 so that all off the data is read/written without any data being calculated by the burner.
JAP PS2s with the originmal modchip.com requires the game to be patched with Universal Patcher so CloeCD is no good for that. |

what cd clone does copies all protection so if its mod chip protected it will copy that to so when you try in it will tell your psx is chip (it no use in copy these games with cd clone so you need cdrwin & a patch for these games) you copy any games which are protected but NOT the ones which are mod chip protected

Thanx alot guys, that really helps alot. I am trying to find away to backup games that ARE mod chip protected. So let me know if I am right...I backed up NFL Gameday 2k2 but when I play the backup, it says "system has been modified", but the original plays fine. If I were to backup this game with CloneCD, the backup would stil need to be patched. Right? What if there is no patch available? Is there another way? Thanx again!!

If there is no patch and the import player will not load this title then the only solution is to use a multimode V3 stealth mod chip to get around the anti-mod protection.
