new burner

I just bought a new burner and am looking for some info. It's a Panasonic(Matsushita) CW 7585. Is there a program that will burn a PSX game on it? I've tried cdrwin4.0 and I get a write error message. I also have PSXcopy 2000, but my writer won't support RAW write. I am new to this so please keep replies in novice terms. Any info would be a help.

Hi Jed.

Download Clone CD, if it is not supported on that then your onto a loser there im affraid. IF you can take your writer back and get something off the CLONE list for example a HP or Ricoh you cant go wrong with them, then do it. Remember it should be able to copy in RAW mode.

Good Luck

Dal

for decent site on how to use clone and CDR-win ##### out www.psxcopyworld.co.uk

Jed - there is no need to ditch your CD writer; it's perfectly good for CDR-WIN and CDR-WIN does the job for PS2. Answer Spooky's question - provide a bit more info and we might be able to get to the bottom of what's wrong. Do you have a licensed version of CDR-WIN?

Thanks for the reply. the error message is...

error: WRITE command failed on device 1:0:0
illegal command request (04h 00h 02h 05h 2Ch 00h)

I also got CloneCD on the advice of a friend but it wont see my burner as a burner.(will read but not write)
I seem to have gotten PSXcopy to work but my copys wont play. The original loads fine but the copy gives me a coloured pattern and goes no further. (Anybody want to buy some slightly used disks?????) Hope this can give you a better idea of my problem(mistakes?) WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?
thanks in advance Jed

EZ CD
I'm assuming it's IDE Inteface right?
How's is it setup? Primary Slave,Secondary Master or Slave?
From what you're telling me on the error message it could be the problem..that's my opinion..
Try setting up Secondary Master if possible..
Because if you put it on a Secondary Slave I heard it caues lot of problems from lot of IDE CDR drive users..Personally I use Scsi so I couldn;t tell you much except that..
