Before anyone else gets in with a ruder reply than this, RTFF!
You can't do such a fundamental thing as to boot off a copy of a boot disk. |

I paid enough money for the original and want to keep that one intact, so what's wrong to backup the bootcd ?? |

Because it technically won't work. The Boot CD has to be of the sort recognised in pre-boot mode by the PS2. I'm shaky on the full detail because it's not published but the PS2 first reads the CD/DVD off-phase to establish from its colour (and I believe by other light related means) whether this is a PS CD, a PS2 CD or a PS2 DVD. Such CDs are created through a SONY OEM kit and pressed, not burned.
A copy is not in the necessary pre-boot condition. Now do you believe me? |

Sorry Mie, wasnt trying to sound mean, it's just impossible to do. No cd writer is capable of writing the unique data that seperates a original from a backup. As Charlie states in his reply, this data must be pressed into the original. No bootdisc, AR2, GAMESHARK2 or REGION_X can be copyed or downloaded and used to boot backups.
