ps2 gameshark

I have a ps2 version 4,and had a chip installed but having no luck,says to insert a ps2 disc.Do i need a gameshark,or something.I used clonecd and cdrwin but am new to this.please help!!!!!!!!!

you need a gameshark to play PS2 backups, PS2 originals,PSX originals and PSX backups should boot up as normal.
