please convince me on ps2 backups

A newbie on the boards but not new to backing up psx1 games. I have backed up plenty ps1 games but still no luck on ps2. ( I have the neo2 mod-chip installed). After using the search I found a couple of threads saying you can use Clonecd and CdR-win with the default settings applied. No magic happened for me. A friend at work brought Rumble Racing and it work. The big Question how did you do that, he said that he found a private site where they rip and extract the security codes. I know Cdr-win has that option to disect the game but I have no experience in that department. If any can help on either subject making a backup or ripping a game or even an idea helps. Thanx gamers!!!

to copy ps2 games is like coping ps1 games but if the disc is silver on the bottom the game is a dvd game and can't be copied (i don't think) if it purple/back bottom just do it like a ps1 game with cdrwin & ppf-o-matic or if its 100% compatible with cd clone (REMEMBER CD CLONE IS ONLY 100% COMPATIBLE WITH A FEW WRITERS)

Thanxs for the reply, yes if the bottom of the cd gold it's a dvd game such as ZOE and can not be burned ( yet ) but I had never had to use a patch for a ps1 game, I take that back NHL face-off 2001 had a protection and required a patch. I have a Yamaha 8x4x24 scsi with a scsi card. No problems with ps1 games. I want to learn how to rip a ps2 game. does any body know how.
