Problems Playing Patched Ntsc Images On Pal Ps2 With Neo2/Ar2.

I have obtained quite a few Ps2 Ntsc Images recently. Some of which have the swap trick patch applied.
With the Neo2 I thought I could just burn and play but the Ar2 boot
menu just freezes after swapping the disc and pressing X.
Could it be that these already applied patches are causing the problem?
Do these images need to patched to Pal ?
Finally ,if this is the case can I patch an already patched image to
Pal ?
