How can I play imports on a UK-PS2 ?

Is there a mod-chip out for the UK machine yet?
I am desperate to get hold of and play those elusive Jap & US games on my PS2.
It would certainly beat waiting for the long months until the Euro-PAL coversions hit UK shores.


While on this topic, I saw a chap at a local boot-sale this weekend who's selling 'boot' disks and copied games for PS2. He said they work as for DC. Put in Boot Disk first then the copied game.

Has anyone heard of this 'Boot Disk'?
