Which method is best to use for PS2 DVD's??

I have been reading these forums for the last week or so ever since Santa brought a PS2 into our home. I have been backing up PSX games for over a year now with out a problem or hitch. This PS2 DVD thing has given a new twist on the game.
After reading all I can get in these forums I have it narrowed down to two choices: (1) spend the cash and get a Panasonic A03 DVD burner, a NEO mod chip and the software and make 1:1 DVD copies and then play games. (2) Aquire all the DVD ripping software, spend a lot more time and effort to make DVD rips of originals and each rip is different for each game. This process seems to have a larger learning curve.
My question is this: If money was no object, the simplest easiest way to make DVD backups for PS2 is to go the route of a Panasonic DVD burner and software. Is this correct or have I not read enough on this subject yet? ( I have been reading for over a week now??)

Thanks in advance for any and all answers and opinions.

The Pioneer A03 DVR is the only sensible way. Burning tutorial on ####://www.psxcopyworld.co.uk .

Ripping will be increasingly difficult as games now reach 4.5GB and can't really be squeezed down to 650MB; going multi-CD is quite difficult, very time consuming and a steep learning curve as you've identified.

NEO2.2 chip will do or a Messiah clone if you can get it (much better than Neo2.2)
