Mod Chip Detection

I have tried making backups of the following PSX games and I always get the SOFTWARE TERMINATED with a big red circle and a diagonal line through it. The programs check for the mod chip, and when found, terminate my backups. I have tried some of the patches on gamecopyworld but to no avail. The games are (1) Grind Session, (2) Crash Bash, (3) NBA Shootout 2001, (4) Legend Of Dragoon, and some others....any ideas?????????
