ok i bought a mod-chip from mod-chip.com and the installation went good and everything and when i put in a backup it says please insert playstation cd-rom. so then i tryed putting in the original and swapping it while holding down the button in the back and that worked and the game played fine. so is that a bad chip or is there a way to check or something?

sometimes when the playstation is modded it makes it awkward just to put a cd in and make it work try tilting the playstation on its side it often works
