Could it be possible that new european dc models are not protected ?

I ask for that cuze last week i wrote to my company´s message board that i search for an
elder dc cuze of ....
4 people answered me why i ask for an old one,
since everyone of them told me that they
have a mabe 2 months old one dc bought
in the stores and those one play everything
like the old ones do.
I do own an elder one ,but i want to buy
a second one since the price in germany for
the consoles dropped to mabe just 70 $
for a new one.
So could it be that only us consoles have that
kinda protection now ?
European dc consoles do not differ from
each country(i:e italy,germany ,england),or do they?
Any germans here bought a new one ?

It could be that the Dreamcasts that they bought only two months ago still have the Pre-OCT00 manufacture date... The only way to be sure is to look at the label on the bottom of the machine.

Remember, Dreamcasts haven't been assembled since about March time frame. Nothing purchased today will have a later date than that and most will have a much earlier date (some will have dates prior to October 2000).

No, it's not written on the package, but unless the game has been repackaged, there is a small window cut into the box that allows you to see the date and serial number labels on the game without opening the package.

No, any machine manufactured on or after October 2000 is suspect of being an "Anti-Piracy" version.
