VCD garbage post

Becoming semi-bored with DC creation I am testing my hand at VCD creation stuff.. I know this is totally off post but heck.

Trying to get help from other peeps is crazy.. LOL. Now I know how some of the newbies here feel! Basically, I have the movies. I have the encoders (avi to mpg) and I have the software to burn.. But am getting crazy errors, and basically looking for a hand.

Either reply here or email me if you feel generous. Thanks!

lol.. Thanks Bravo.

Without getting nutty, I d/l a bunch of new movies (The Fast and Furious, Shrek, Planet of the Apes, etc.) and am just getting pissed at the whole process. Some of the movies are AVI files. Which you have to encode to MPG then to VCD (pain in the friggin ass). Others are BIN/CUE and (I think) can go straight into Nero.

I haven't tried the BIN/CUE stuff yet.. But the AVI stuff, I am getting mad errors. Once converted (after like 4 hours), Nero and EZ CD creator give errors. Just wanted to know what you all use and what is the quickest/best way to do so..

(and if you need the movies, email me!)

:P

for how to set it up ##### out the post, ["i'm sorry but i still have no answers"] i posted a setup guide to put mpeg one movies and what you need to encode them and for the vcd files themselves look on dccopyworld under utilities, they have added a new self boor vcd player that does the work for you and i'm pretty sure it explains how to deal with the movies you have.

tip, i found if you leave the session open when burning with nero, you can still run it on your dc and add more files at a later time.

Well Sixdsix, I just got Jurassic Park III, and although it was a .BIN/.CUE which is still giving me fits, I was able to dump the .DAT file (the .MPG file renamed) using IsoBuster, and used Nero to reburn a VCD. No problem.

Wayne:

Very cool indeed. I do know you can take BIN/CUEs and load them directly into Nero. Or that is what I have read in other forums.

The thing that sucks about VCDs is the freaking time it takes to encode AVIs. If everything came over as MPG or even BIN/CUEs, it would be cake walk.

I mean, jeesh. You d/l the AVI, and it takes about 6 or 7 hours to encode per disk. So if you screw up with the settings, you are fricked until you get it right. VCD burning is a long and slow learning curve.

Pray you don't have to convert the fps. If you do, you'll have all sorts of audio sync issues.
