I am having a problem backing up Freestyle Metal X

I have tried using nero 6 & alcohol 1.9.2 build 1705 to back it up, I am using the same brand dvd-r's (verbatim) that I used successfully in the past. I haven't found any patches that need to be used for this game. I am also unable to back up big mutha truckers. Does anyone know if there is something I am missing?
