DVD Burner - which one?

I hope this is the right part of the Forum, but because it's about Backup i think it should

I want to buy a DVD Burner but don't know which ones are good. Especially I think about Plextor because Plextor CD Burners are the best for Game Backups. Anyone knows if Plextor DVD Burners are also this good for PC-DVD Game Backups (e.g. UT2k4)?

Or LG?

You have good experiences with this Pioneer/Plextor? Especially with making Backups of protected DvDs?

On a shop i usually buy my stuff I found only some DVD Burner with 'buffer underrun protection'.... my CD Burner got it... how's the need for this at DVD burner?

I can recommend the LiteOn LDW-851S/451S to you.
Both are able to make perfect backups of Safedisc 2/3 protected CDs.

The cheapest one you can possibly find.

I got some cheap one, ... I don't even know the name of it.

It rocks, I bought it in Best Buy for $100 way back when.

Well i always bought the cheapest CD Burner (or one of the cheapest) and often got problems with Backups....

The Plextor i found is about 170€, that would also be ok..

btw: i found burners from LG which write DVD-Ram 3x? How can RAM be burned?
