PS2 Utility Disc version 1.00/1.01 ????

I made a backup of my Ridge Racer 5 game.
Just to try this cool stuff. I understand that i can play the backup with the swap trick patch in combination with the PS2 Utility Disc version 1.00 or 1.01. (without a modchip).
But i can't find the PS2 Utility Disc version 1.00 or 1.01 zip file or ISO on the internet and no information about it.
Please help me to get the needed file and info.

The PS2 Utility Disk comes with the JAP PS2 which I don't think you've got. It won't boot with a PAL PS2. So you need to have the PS2 modchipped to play backups. If you need more help on this, let us know.

I can only answer you from the perspective of what I know about modchips. The modchip is there to stop the boot process at the right point to allow a backup to be swapped in. At that point, the region and disk authenticity checks have been made and any PS2 game that has been correctly copied can be swapped in behind it. On that basis, what you want to do ought to work since the trick you use amounts to the same thing. Try it with a backup of a non-protected game made with CloneCD otherwise if it doesn't work you'll be scratching your head due to additional complexity. Let us know what happens.
