CD Image...

I have been told that most PC games seem to work just as well making an image of the CD on the HD rather than using a NO-CD patch. And, it's more legal...

...Just wondering, how would one go about doing this?

Download Alcohol 120% and make an image of the game to your hard drive.
Now mount this image onto one of the virtual drives that Alcohol creates. You can do this by right clicking on the tray icon in the bottom right on your screen and selecting from there.

Alcohol 120% - worth purchasing?

Finally tried doing this, and it was the only way I was able to play the game (Battle Engine Aquila) without the CD. Don't like taking 3 and a half hours to make an image when a NO-CD patch takes only minutes. Too lazy for my own good, I guess!

Anyway, I notice I am using the trial version of this software every few months. Just wondering if you all think it's worth the $50 or is there another better/cheaper one to choose...

BTW, any idea if it's available at discount software stores. I like a good deal!

Thanks!
