gothic 2 startup question
out of curiousity i tried to make an backup of gothic 2 using blindwrite as well as alcohol. although my hardware is a lil bit older, there was not really a problem creating the mds and bwa files. i didn't wanted to waste cdr's so i used alcohol and daemon tools to load the 3rd cd. it doesn't seem to mather, if the emulation options are activated or not, the game starts normal, but after the longer loading "please wait screen" the game doesn't start, but the splash disappear and nothing is started. putting in the original again, there is no problem. what does this now mean? maby someone could help me
thx for help and time kindest regards, stealthsnake. Last edited by stealthsnake; 17-12-2002 at 14:56. |

problem's gone. solution was easy, but hidden. i used different progs to create virtual drives (ccd, alcohol, daemon). because i use those vd's very often i have meanwhile 16. somewhen i must have loaded the image for the third cd into two different drives and forgot about one of them. seems like it was somehow blockating the start of the game. i cleared the drive, loaded an image into a damon 3.26 vd and now problem's gone. works with bw bwa files as well as with alc mds files. no probs there with the protection or the installation. and also no prob, when i used the original to try if it is still working. though the image was loaded and the cd was in a drive the game proper started, but not when 2 same images are loaded into different drives (this just for info). thats the result. thx anyway...i get back tp play now. have a nice day... kindest regards, stealthsnake. |
