Problem with PSX?????

I have a Burned version of DDR extra mix, and it won't work on my PSX when I do the CD swapping. The thing is it works on my friends PSX and he came over and did it himself and it didn't work. I have a SCPH 1001 version PSX. Is there something wrong with my PSX? How can I get this game working.

Niether I have the Pro Action Replay in the back of the PSX like a gameshark. I boot it up with a normal game, then switch em.
