Samsung Combo SM-304B refuses to write CD-RW 4-10x

My CD-RW/DVD a drive, Samsung Combo SM-304B 4x4x24 (firmware T000), refuses to write CD-RW of a matrix 4-10x. The program of record gives out the message "Power calibration error". 2-4x it writes matrixes of CD-RW normally. In what there can be a problem and how it can be solved?

Sure, get a different drive.

The drive you are talking about is only able to write at 4x max. Maybe there is an unofficial firmware update which may help you. Do a search on firmware pages.

Yes, the maximal speed of record of this drive-4x. But for me it is not clear, why it can not write on 4x speed these matrixes? You see on them it is written 4-10x speed! Unfortunately, all tried by me firmware for this model, do not solve this problem : (

@ Dimitri

VLuka is right!

Just to make things clear: The writing speed depends on your writer. If it is only capable of writing at 4x it doesn't matter what blanks you insert, max speed remains 4x!

You are right, of course.
I just didn't get that point.
