Question No Solder Mod Chip help!!!

I've installed the no solder mod chip in my v5 PS2 unit. I'm using a GS2 v 2.01 also. I've had success in booting PS2 back up games like wwf smackdown, ssx tricky, and simpsons road rage, using the swap instructions w/o any problems. However, I am having trouble w/ booting up ps one back ups. I'm following the regualr swap instructions for the back up games. It doesn't work for all the ps one games I've tried. Am I the only one having trouble playing some back up ps one games? I can get working so far are tony hawk 3, simpsons wrestling, dragon ball z final bout(u.s version). But having trouble w/ spider-man 2, and spongebob square pants. Now I know these are working back ups because I have tried them on another old chipped playstation one system and they all worked. All these games are backed up using cdrwin and on verbatim cdrs. why can't I get them all to work on my PS2 system? It's driving me crazy. Do I have to boot some of the ps one back up games differently? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

There are limitations in what can be achieved with this automated knife/card swap. There is no enhance mechanism for getting the timing right and "fooling" the PS2 in an orderly way other than the tray being forced out.
With the knife/card trick there were many games that wouldn't play.

So barring a laser that's differently calibrated from your mate's chipped PS2, it's likely to be the boot method that's the problem - the limitation of the R-Chip.

Nightstalker,

My PSX back up of spider-man 2 is the U.S. version. I know it's a working back up too because I've tried it out on 2 other old PSX 0ne chipped units. So, I do not know what is wrong w/ some of these games on my PS2 unit. Thanks for the info though.

NO SOLDER MOD CHIP

I AM USING THE SAME MOD CHIP WITH A V5 BOARD AND GS2 AND IT WORKS GREAT. THE ONLY THING THAT YOU HAVE TO REMEMBER IS TO USE THE PS2 GAMESHARK DISC WITH PS2 BACK UPS AND THE PS1 GAMESHARK DISC FOR PS1 BACK UPS.
SOMETIMES I PUT THE WRONG GS DISC WITH THE WRONG PS BACK UP AND THEN THEY WON'T WORK.
