Need help with DJ error message - "the media is write protected"
Almost every time I try to make an image file out of a copied game, now, I get that error message... "Error accessing c:\x\gameX.cdi CD image - the media is write protected"
I've dropped the speed down to 1x in hopes that would help, and it hasn't. What's going on, and how do I fix it? Any info would be greatly appreciated. |

Where did you get this games. If you don't download them from the net but buy, then, maybe it's made protected by local lame-hackers with their babyish protected tools. Try to extract all the files from the disc you want to copy and made self-boot game by your hands. If it refuses to extract with some errors, then use Blind-Write (I think by this time it supports semi-session discs). If the game is not self boot, then it would me much easier making an ISO by yourself.
P.S. First try to re-install DJ (I advice to install DJ2) - maybe in new versions they added something agreements about protect. But as I can judge - DJ3 works perfect as well. |

It's not the games, or anything like that. It's something with my computer, or wrong with my hard drive. I either have to defragment it, or I possibly even have some partition table problems - as I just checked it with Nuts & Bolts and got a strange error message.
I need to back up my hard drive, fix the error (which will probably mean reformatting it), and see if I still get the same problems. |
