You can try using lzss from quickbms.exe to see if what you're trying to do works.

Oy vey, I keep forgetting about your work with QuickBMS under XTool (or vice versa however it works), I'll give this a shot on the next title I look into, thankfully for my current curiosity ("Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault"), its relatively easy to get the title to recognise loose files.
