You need to find out where the read appear: are they related to the Tagès protection or the scratches? If Alcohol 120% was able to find out the protection then it should also be able to make a working copy - at least, in the form of an MDF+MDS image. Because of how this copy protection works, there should be no read errors at all while making an image so UltraISO should work, too.

The fact that neither worked suggests that the cause is the scratches. Try to simply copy all the files from the DVD into an empty directory on your hard disk. If you get error messages again then trying to back the DVD up is too late now.

If you don't, copy this package of files to a "virgin" PC, where the game hasn't even been installed yet, install the game and the no-CD patch. If the installer does not check copy protection and, after full installation, the game doesn't need DVD for accessing files on it, "only" to check the copy protection, then this should work. If the game does need the DVD for files, burn the package of files onto a DVD (along with the original disc label!) and see if that works.
