Charlie, I just spoke with Bill from freedomlives.com (he mentioned that he knew you) and he said his gut instinct was that the chip that I received is for v5, and he doesn't think it's a v7 chip. Even though I just got finished comparing the picture of the v7 chip off of
www.china-magic.com and it looks identical to the chip I'm holding in my hand right now, right down to the little smiley face to the left of the word "Magic 2". You would know better than I...is it possible that Lik-Sang did ship out a batch of v7 chips, even though on their website it says they won't be available until the 22nd? Or is it possible that this is indeed a v5 chip with a brown pcb? And you might want to e-mail Bill about it, as when I go there tomorrow we were going to test it on my v5 machine first, but if it didn't work on that, we were going to put it in my v7 I'm bringing along just in case...I'd hate for him to waste an hour and a half putting it in the wrong one.
