I had exactly the same problem, as my cd burner was ricoh and nero came as part of the package. I purchased a pioneer 104 assuming i could still use the nero version I had. This clearly wasn't going to happen.
I downloaded a newer version of nero, which was a demo version.
I have heard that "apparently" you can donload key generators to unlock the demo and to use it as the full version therefore allowing your new burner and your old one to work together without a problem for unlimited time.
Of course I would never do this as it is probably illegal, not to mention highly unethical!
